From the recording Storybook
Probably my most popular song when played live, "Searching" didn't quite turn out the way I wanted. But it was also my first time producing music so I still had a lot to learn about recording and producing music and didn't yet quite appreciate the value of a well-made record. This song was partly inspired by the movie "Made In Heaven" starring Timothy Hutton.
Lyrics
I've been searching all this life, all the world over 'cause I feel you were reborn and whether younger or older
I can't forget those days when we were midnight lovers
We had so much to say to fill all of the centuries
CHORUS:
I'm just hoping that I find you
I'll make you remember that nothing that strong can fade away
Time moves and I feel
I'm running out of corners
Still faith keeps me holding on, love is my shoulder
Seem to forget those days when we were midnight lovers
I'm hoping what I say will paint the picture in your mind
CHORUS
Oh, in the village long ago
We went through kisses of all kinds
and the stars applauded us
for they said
our love will stand through all time
And I'm still searching all this life, all the world over 'cause I feel that you're holding on to something not over
Can't forget those days when no gray clouds would hover
The moon would guide the way smiling down to light the path
I am hoping it will lead me
to where you are right now
'cause nothing this strong will fade away
